ИТОНСКИЙ КОЛЛЕДЖ  Итон - колледж - это средняя школа. Она находится в городке  Итон  в 25 километрах к западу от центра Лондона. Город стоит на берегу Темзы, а на противоположном берегу высится главная загородная резиденция королевской семьи - Виндзорский замок. Каждый год, в конце мая, ученики  Итона  приезжают в Лондон, чтобы возложить белые цветы у той башни внутри крепости, где это произошло. Надо сказать, что  Итон-колледж  был создан, чтобы принять в свои стены 70 учеников из малоимущих семей. Лишь в 17 веке он стал престижным и дорогим. Но традиция сохраняется - здесь сегодня учится 1200 платящих за обучение юношей и 70 так называемых королевских стипендиатов, причем школьникам неизвестно кто из них есть кто. Памятник основателю красуется в просторном внутреннем дворе главного корпуса колледжа.
