Употребление:
подчеркивается значение длительности действия, которое началось в прошлом и продолжается до настоящего времени
I have been studying English for six years.

Usage:
- to emphasise that something is still continuing in the present:
- about action that started in the past and stopped recently. There is usually a result now:
