Semantic and lexico-grammatical features

SEMANTIC FEATURES
The verb possesses the grammatical meaning
of verbiality - the ability to denote a process developing in time. The processual meaning is embedded in all the verbs.

THE TYPES OF PROCESS
process of doing, or material processes, e.g. Alex is doing homework
processes of happening, e.g. the lesson is beginning

verbal, e.g. I thoroughly enjoy jogging (gerund)
mental, or evaluative, e.g. she didn’t understand him, she hates lie

relational, e.g. he has got a brother, she is beautiful, Anna is at home
existential, e.g. there was an apple on the table
