The art of origami has its roots in ancient China, where paper was invented.

Classic origami prescribes the use of a single sheet of paper without glue and scissors. Modern forms of art sometimes depart from this canon.

One of the most popular varieties of origami is a modular origami, in which the whole figure is assembled from many small parts (modules), each of which consists of a sheet of paper. One of most commonly encountered objects of modular origami is Kusudama, volumetric body is spherical in shape.

Kinds and techniques of origami
The origami uses a single universal system of signs allowing to record the process of folding of any model in the form of drawings series. It has been thought up only in the middle of the XX century by the famous Japanese origami master Akira Yoshizawa and allowed origami to spread throughout the world.
