The Times is a daily newspaper in Great Britain, one of the most famous newspapers in the world. The Times was founded by John Walter in 1785 and was then called The Daily Universal Register, edited by Walter himself. On January 1, 1788, after 940 issues, the name was changed to The Times.

The publication is currently owned by Rupert Murdoch's News UK. John Whitlow is currently the Chief Editor.The daily circulation of the newspaper is over 300,000 copies.
The Times was the first newspaper to send correspondents around the world to cover war conflicts, thus becoming a pioneer of war journalism.
