Exposition - O’Henry introduces the main character, tells his story and establishes the setting.
Complications – Numerous Soapy’s attempts to go to jail.
Climax – Soapy’s arrest.
No denouement.

“MISTAKEN IDENTITY”
Exposition – The writer includes the necessary preliminaries to the events of the plot, supplies information on the following questions: Who? Where? When?
Complications – Author’s attempts to get a place in the sleeper and getting it.
Climax – The writer’s question: “Who am I?”
Denouement – The author understood that he had been mistaken for the other person.
