HISTORY OF THE CREATION OF THE STATE PUSHKIN MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS.
We are here to tell you about the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. The laying ceremony of the Museum was held on August 17, 1898.

The construction was entrusted to architect RI. Klein, he was assisted in construction by engineer Vladimir Shukhov, the author of the museum’s unique translucent ceilings. The building was completed in 1904. On May 31 (June 13), 1912, the museum was opened to the public as the Museum of Fine Arts named after Emperor Alexander III at the Imperial Moscow University. In 1991, the Museum was included in the State collection of especially valuable cultural heritage sites of the peoples of the Russian Federation.
