Reflexive pronouns

F.e. This is my book. - This book is mine.

Случаи использования
возвратных местоимений:
1. С некоторыми глаголами, когда подлежащее и
дополнение, относящиеся к глаголу, представляют одно и то
же лицо: behave – вести себя, burn – обжечься, cut –
порезаться, enjoy – веселиться, hurt – пораниться, introduce –
Представляться, look at – смотреть на, teach – научиться и т.д.
F.E. Be careful, you can hurt yourself!
НО: возвратные местоимения не используются после
предлогов места:
F.E. He closed the door behind him.

2. С предлогом by, когда выражение означает «сам, один»,
т.е. кто-то выполняет что-либо самостоятельно, без чьей-
либо помощи.
F.E. She likes living by herself.
3. В выражениях, как: enjoy yourself (весело проводить
время), behave yourself (прилично себя вести), help yourself
(угощаться), find oneself (очутиться), amuse oneself
(развлекаться), do it yourself (сделай сам), pinch oneself
(отказать себе в чем-либо), take care of oneself (заботиться о
ком-то) и другие.
F.E. I found myself alone in a strange city.

4. Для усиления значения подлежащего или дополненияв
предложении
F.E. I myself baked the cake.
НО: после глаголов to dress – одеваться, to hide –
прятаться, to wash – умываться, to bathe – купаться,
to shave – бриться, возвратные местоимения обычно не
употребляются.

Remember:
Возвратные местоимения в английском языке
не нужно употреблять после глаголов и выражений: - to feel (чувствовать),
- to concentrate (сосредоточиться),
- to relax (расслабиться),
- to meet (встретиться),
- to kiss – поцеловаться (и с другими русскими
глаголами, которые выражают значение взаимного
действия).
- to take / to bring something with (взять с собой,
принести с собой).
F.E. I feel good!

8) Make yourselves comfortable.
9) He hurt himself.
10) Let me introduce myself.
11) We can’t defend ourselves.

15) We always design our clothes ourselves.

Put into the proper reflexive pronouns:
We wished … good luck before the exam.
I can’t see … in the mirror.
