The influence of Lenin
The initiator of the creation and the main ideologist of Komsomol organization was V. I. Lenin. "The tasks of youth Unions“ became the fundamental conceptual document of Komsomol for many years.

The role of Komsomol
Very soon Komsomol remained the only political youth organization in the Soviet Union. Ideological education of youth was carried out and political and social projects were implemented through the structure of the organization.

Significant role in the victory in the great Patriotic War belongs to the Komsomol.
Some groups of the Komsomol members in full force went into the army in the border areas.

Komsomol held and encouraged youth participation in «volunteer public order squads».
