Mother’s Day part2

On the walls of the museum you can see icons with Virgin Mary and baby Christ and pictures devoted to Motherhood.

In show windows you can find different toys, self-made horns, children’s night-caps and bibs.
There are more than one thousand examples of dolls, different animals and other things in the museum. There are also many wax figures of a child, books and beautiful plates and cups in the museum.

The British Royal family is
headed by Queen Elizabeth.
The Queen is a symbol of the country history and its traditions.

She is very rich. She travels about the United Kingdom, meets different people and visits schools, hospitals and other special places.

So do all the members of the Royal family: the Queen’s husband, her son Prince Charles, the Queen’s daughters Princess Anna and Princess Margaret.

They are well-known for their charity work.
The Queen Elizabeth II is widely known as a president
of the Save the Children Fund.

Diana-
the People’s Princess
Diana and Prince Charles seemed to be a happy couple at first.
They had two sons.

Diana and Charles travelled a lot, they worked a lot, they visited many countries together.
But Diana was not quite happy because they did different things and Charles didn’t understand her.
Diana loved her sons very much.
She wanted to give them a part of her soul, to make them happy because she was unhappy herself.

Diana was a kind woman. She liked ordinary people, though she was rich. She was devoted to the sick and the poor.
She visited hospitals for people with AIDS and wasn’t afraid to touch them.
Wherever she was, she was always ready to lend a hand.
She worked on children’s charities.

Diana did so much for
those people
less fortunate than herself.
She was, indeed,
the People’s Princess.

Mother Tereza
The Catholic nun, the foundress of the Award of mercy, was engaged in service to the poor and the sick.
In 1979 mother Tereza has been awarded the World Nobel Prize.
She was considered to be sacred during her lifetime.

At the age of twelve, she felt strongly the call of God.
She knew she had to be a missionary to spread the love of Christ.
On October 7, 1950, Mother Teresa received permission from the Holy See to start her own order, "The Missionaries of Charity", whose primary task was to love and care for those persons nobody was prepared to look after.
In 1965 the Society became an International Religious Family by a degree of Pope Pius VI. They provide effective help to the poorest of the poor in a number of countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and they undertake relief work in the wake of natural catastrophes such as floods, epidemics, and famine, and for refugees. They take care of the shut-ins, alcoholics, homeless, and AIDS sufferers.

Mother Teresa's work has been recognised and acclaimed throughout the world and she has received a number of awards and distinctions, including the Pope John XXIII Peace Prize (1971) and the Nehru Prize for her promotion of international peace and understanding (1972).
She also received the Balzan Prize (1979)
and the Templeton and Magsaysay awards.
