The subject of my research is Celtic folk in different historical periods. The objectives of my work are: firstly - to explore the roots of Celtic folk; secondly - to traсe Celtic traditions in Irish folk music in different historical periods; thirdly - to show how Celtic music was changing in these periods; finally - to show the influence of Celtic music on modern Irish music. English is a global language. It is one of the official languages in the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and even in the South African Republic. As it is spoken all over the world? It has several varieties. It is very important for those who learn English to know if only the main differences between them. More frequently we concern with American English. It is highly advisable to know the main particularities of the American English. That is why my work is very actual. The purpose of my work is to characterize all the varieties of English and to make clear the main differences between British English and American English. Bill (William) Stoneham was born in 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts. He was given up for adoption at birth, spending his first nine months in a Boston orphanage. His adoptive parents gave him the Stoneham name. Little is known about his birth mother, other than the fact that she was a portrait painter and that "Miller" was her married name. Stoneham is an accomplished artist who has worked in feature film, video game art, and fine art including oil painting, poetry, illustration and writing.
