Ulyanovsk is a major city of Russia, the administrative center of Ulyanovsk Oblast. It is situated on the Volga Upland, on the banks of the Volga (The Kuibyshev Reservoir) and the Sviyaga. Savrasov was born into the family of a merchant. He began to draw early and in 8 he enrolled at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and immediately began to specialize in landscape painting. In 1857, Savrasov became a teacher at the Moscow School of painting, sculpturing and architecture. His best pupils, Isaac Levitan and Konstantin Korovin, remembered their teacher with admiration and gratitude. Savrasov became especially close with Vasily Perov. Perov helped him paint the figures of the boat trackers in Savrasov's Volga near Yuryevets, Savrasov painted landscapes for Perov's Bird catcher and Hunters on Bivouac.

Christmas Day , December 25,is probably the most popular holiday in Great Britain. It is a family holiday. Traditionally all relatives and friends give each other presents. So before Christmas all the department stores and shops are crowded, everybody is choosing a present. In general, people get prepared for this holiday very carefully. They decorate their houses in the traditional way, that is the Christmas trees are set up in houses, in the streets and churches. The Christmas trees are always decorated with fairy lights, angels and small toys. In addition litlle packets with nuts, candies and special biscuits are hung on the tree. Presents are put around the tree and artificial ''frost'' is scattered over the branches. Besides the Christmas tree, holly and mistletoe are used to decorate the house.

Since ancient times Nature has served Man, being the source of his life. For thousands of years people lived in harmony with environment and it seemed to them that natural riches were unlimited. But with the development of civilization man's interference in nature began to increase. Large cities with thousands of smoky industrial enterprises appear all over the world today.

Men and women have different roles to play in society. In eastern countries, usually men are responsible for earning livelihood, and women are just to take care of domestic matters. No doubt, exceptions are there, but still tendency is as discussed above. In western countries, this trend is diminishing by time, as women are also financially contributing a lot in running the vehicle of a home, by offering their professional services to society, that is still absent in majority of eastern countries. Women are also expected to take care of children, cleanliness of home, cooking of food, shopping of grocery, etc. These different societal roles also affect their roles in business. Women, throughout the world, face a lot of difficulties in managing business responsibilities along with their personal ones, so these difficulties change their roles and expectations in business world as compared to those of men.

The United States of America is the fourth largest country in the world (after Russia, Canada and China). The flag of the USA is often called “ The Stars and Stripes”. There are 50 stars on it: one for each state. The flag has 13 stripes. There are 7 red stripes and 6 white stripes: one stripe for each of the first 13 colonies of the USA. The eagle became the official national symbol of the country in 1782. It has an olive branch (a symbol of peace) and arrows (symbols of strength). You can see the eagle on the back of the dollar bill. One of the most famous symbols of the USA is the Statue of Liberty. France gave the statue to America in 1884 as a symbol of friendship. The Statue is in New York on Liberty Island. The symbols of the USA are: “Uncle Sam” is a cartoon symbol of the American Government. He has appeared in magazines and newspapers for last 150 years. In 1812 Samuel Wilson sold meat to US Army. Everybody called him Uncle Sam. The first letters of his name US were the same as the first letters of the United States.

That quarters of the city was destroyed by fire during Napoleon’s occupation, but by the mid 19th century Moscow had been completely restored.
