Aggro
Aggro- means aggressive.
Example: He got aggro with me. This is also used as a noun “she was really giving me the aggro.”

Ambo
Ambo- means ambulance’.
Example: The ambo is on it’s way.

Away with the fairies/pixies
Away with the fairies/pixies- means someone who isn’t paying attention.
Example: She is away with the fairies.

Banged up
Banged up- means someone that has been hurt or damaged.
Example: She got banged up last night at the night club.

Barbie
Barbie- means a barbeque.
Example: Let’s have a barbie tonight.

Bathers
Bathers- means swimming costume
Example: Let’s buy some bathers.

Beer o’clock
Beer o’clock- means the end of the work day when you go to the pub for a beer.
Example: Is it beer o’clock yet?

Cheerio
Cheerio means- goodbye.
Example: Cheerio Sam.

Cancer Stick/Ciggie
Cancer stick/ ciggie- means a cigarette.
Example: Are you going to have a ciggie John?
Example: Are you having a cancer stick Joel?
Another slang term for cigarette is fag.

Cark It
Cark it- means the car is going to die.
Example: The car is about to cark it.

Daks
Daks- means trousers or underpants.
Example: I am buying some daks today.

Divvy Up
Divvy up- means to divide or separate something.
Example: I need to divvy up the class.

Doco
Doco- means watching a documentary.
Example: I am filming a doco at the moment.

Flick
Flick-means to give something, or someone the flick means to get rid of them in an abrupt manner.
Example: I’ll flick you an email today. (This is used when we are having a general conversation with your friend.)
I gave him the flick. (This is used when you are trying to get rid of someone. This happens in an abrupt manner.

Footy
Foot- means Australian Rules Football.
Example: I am watching the footy.

For crying out loud- means an expression of annoyance.
Example: For crying out loud! I am trying to watch the TV.

Missus
Missus- means wife.
Example: She’s my missus.

Nipper
Nipper- means young surf lifesaver.
What is a nipper’s club?
Nippers is a junior program that introduces children aged 5 to 12 to surf lifesaving. It is a fun outdoors activity that grows a child’s confidence and teaches valuable life skills and knowledge. Every Surf Life Saving club around Western Australia offers a nippers program, all with various styles and sizes. The youth of today are the future of Surf Life Saving, and the nippers pathway teaches lessons and skills allowing them to continue in lifesaving and sport as they grow older. But it’s not hard work. We like to call it serious fun!
