Comment: I have selected and made a collage of illustrations for the new silent films I have seen.
"Arrival of the train at La Ciotat station" (FR. L'arrivée d'un train en gare de la Ciotat) (France, 1896) is an 1896 silent documentary short film; one of the first films produced and publicly shown by the Lumiere brothers. The screen shows the stop of the train at the railway platform of the station of La Ciotat and the passengers moving along the cars, "animated" image of the train moving on the audience, shown in full size.
"Journey to the moon " (FR. Le Voyage dans la Lune (France, 1902)-the first science fiction film in the history of cinema. A silent short farcical Comedy parodying the plots of the novels of Jules Verne "from a gun to the moon" and H. G. wells "the First people on the moon". Directed by Georges Méliès on his own script, on the scenery created by him, at his private Studio and by his acting group.

"The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" (ger. Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari (Germany, 1920) is a classic action-Packed silent film, which marked the beginning of German film expressionism. The first in the history of the film, transmitting on the screen the changed state of human consciousness.
"Greed" (eng. Greed, 1924) (USA, 1924) is an American feature film by Erich von Stroheim, who became a legend of world cinema. One of the longest silent films.
