Foundation of the city
Our city was founded by Tula industrialists Nikita and Akinfiy Demidov.
October 8, 1722 - the day the Vyisky copper-smelting plant was put into operation - became the birthday of the Nizhniy Tagil mining and plant settlement (only on August 20, 1919, Nizhny Tagil received the status of a city).
