Слайд 2Sterlitamak is one of the most beautiful cities in the Republic of
Bashkortostan. From the west, Sterlitamak is surrounded by the East European Plain. On the other hand, the city is surrounded by the extraordinary beauty of the Urals. The republic has the famous mountains of Kushtau, Yuraktau, Toratau and mountains that are no longer - Shakhtau. Some of them are located near the city. In ancient times, the waters of the ocean were splashing here. It is easy to find fossilized corals here.
The name of the city comes from two words: Sterla - the river in which the city is located, and “tamak”, which in Bashkir means “throat” or “mouth”.
