Gap year in Russia

- A Gap year is an expression associated with taking time out to travel between life stages. It is also known as a sabbatical, time off, time out and a year out, referring to a period of time.

- Students, who take a year out before going to university and use that time to gain more skills are more attractive candidates for jobs that those who go straight from school to university, according to research for the Department for Education.

- Russia doesn't have it. People in Russia never used it. So, I don’t know about it too much. But gap year can be dangerous for me. It is able to hurt my skills, my motivation, wish to work and concentration, rather than improve it.

School-leavers in Russia want to go to the University after school more.

- Thank you, professor Lawliet. I understand it. Gap year is not common in our country, those, who take it, do not use it properly, which leads to poor results.

- In Russia there are students-volunteers. But no one of them hadn’t a free year after school. And in Russia people can not understand a human, who take a gap year to travel and participate in various projects.

- Well, outlook of all people on life and study are different. Gap year it is normal thing in Europe. But in Russia it is not popular.
