About the creation history
The premiere of the play took place in 1981 at the «Lenkom» Theater in Moscow. This was a new direction in art – on the stage there were songs-prayers with modern musical accompaniment. The story is based on real events.

Russian explorer Nikolai Ryazanov, in the first Russian round-the-world expedition, arrived in California in 1806 to establish Russian-American trade relations. He fell in love with 16-year-old Maria Concepcion Arguello. Riazanov returned to Alaska, and then went to the emperor in St. Petersburg to get permission to marry a Catholic. But he died of a cold in Krasnoyarsk at the age of 42. The beloved waited for Riazanov for 35 years, and then went to a monastery

The performance is marked by a magical atmosphere. For me, this rock opera is a dream that is impossible to touch. I am still studying this performance. . I continue to search for new information, watch thousands of interviews of everyone who helped create this masterpiece. I became so attached to this story that it became a part of me.

On stage, everything happens here and now. I was once again convinced that the theater is a place where miracles are born. I have visited many theater productions, but I will never forget this story
