Christmas in France

In France Cristmas is celebrated on December 25th. As well as in other Christian countries, Christmas in France is one of the main public holidays.
Public life goes quiet during Christmas: post offices, banks, stores, restaurants and other businesses are closed.
The main gift-bringer, Father Christmas, is called Père Noël in France. Père Noël leaves presents for children in their shoes. So, the presents that he brings are small enough to fit: money, sweets or small toys.
