Amginsky district
My native district is ‘Amginsky Ulus’.

Geography
Located in the southeast of the Central Yakutia. It bordered on the north by Churapchinsky District, in the east and south-east - with Ust-Maisky, in the south and west - with the Aldan district, in the north-west - with Khangalassky and Megino-Kangalassky district. Area – 29400 square kilometers.

History
Center ulus - Amga, founded in 1652 as a settlement Amginsky Russian peasant cultivators. One of the first areas of Yakutia, where the locals have joined the culture of farming.
At the beginning of the 1880s. in Amga exiled Vladimir Korolenko.
December 12, 1911 by the decision of the Senate of the Russian Empire Amginsky region was isolated from Boturusky ulus.
In modern borders established January 9, 1930.

Economy
The leading place in the economy occupies agriculture. The main branch - livestock (meat and dairy cattle, beef breeding herd), are cultivated cereals, potatoes, vegetables and fodder crops. Agricultural lands comprise 106,000 hectares.
Amginsky ulus is one of the lowest wage: 49% of the average in the country. However, there has been a steady growth in economic performance.

Natural attractions
On the territory of Amginsky region are valuable archaeological monuments of Yakutia.
