Center ulus - Amga, founded in 1652 as a settlement Amginsky Russian

At the beginning of the 1880s. in Amga exiled Vladimir Korolenko.
December 12, 1911 by the decision of the Senate of the Russian Empire Amginsky region was isolated from Boturusky ulus.
