Разделительные вопросы состоят из двух частей.
Вторая часть представляет собой мини-вопрос.
Examples:
Dogs are the best friends, aren’t they?
The idea is great, isn’t it?

В конце утвердительных предложений всегда стоит отрицательный мини –вопрос.
There were a lot of people, were not there?
В конце отрицательных предложений всегда стоит положительный мини-вопрос.
There were not a lot of people, were there?

В мини-вопросах используются следующие вспомогательные глаголы:

To be

To do

To have

Модальные глаголы

В конце мини-вопроса стоит личное местоимение:
I
you
he
she
we you
they
it

Examples:
They can play tennis, can’t they?
She is a teacher, isn’t she?
We are not late, are we?
He has not got a book, has he?
I have got a dog, have not I?
My mother likes cats, doesn’t she?
Our parents go to London, don’t they?
