Geography

Oka River

Hill of Glory
This memorial is located in the place where in 1941 the front line. It was here, at the village Kaznacheev, by 238th Infantry Division under the command of Colonel Gennady Petrovich Korotkov (later - the lieutenant-general, honorary citizen of Alexina) were stopped by enemy troops on the outskirts of Moscow. Alexina and where the defenders were able to disrupt the enemy's plans to encircle Tula and destroyed a large grouping of the Nazis.
Only in Tula region found 245 memorial, 29 plates with eternal flame and 223 monument. In addition the region built eight mounds of Immortality and found 36 samples of military equipment. In 485 military graves lie the remains of the dead soldiers and 51,378 guerrillas.

Kolyupanovo

Museum of local lore
Alexinsky Art Museum was founded in 1974, the museum received its first visitors in December 1980.
The museum is housed in the historic city of the three-storey manor house of the former city of merchants 1st guild Maslows, monument architecture of mature classicism. Since 1997, the museum building is on the list of objects of historical and cultural heritage of federal importance.
The museum funds account for more than 22 thousand items of main and auxiliary science funds. The museum has archaeological, numismatic, paleontological, geological collections, collection of paintings, drawings, sculpture, decorative and applied art, objects of ethnography, life, memorial collection dedicated to famous countrymen Bobrischevym-Pushkin, lions, Stechkin, Shchedrin, General GP Korotkov, prof. B. Snegirev, ethnographer S. Tokarev, writer Zoe Resurrection, and others.
The museum exhibition consists of 13 inpatient rooms and 5 halls of changing exhibitions.
