What is a tsunami?
Tsunami are long and high waves generated by a powerful impact on the entire water column in the ocean or other body of water as a result of a sharp displacement of lithospheric plates.
A tsunami wave affects the water from the bottom to the surface of the ocean, which is why even low-raised water can often lead to disasters.

The causes of a tsunami are:
underwater landslides;
falling into the ocean or sea of meteorites, comets or other celestial bodies;
volcanic eruptions (under water);
underwater earthquakes;
tropical cyclones, typhoons;
excessively strong wind;
testing of military weapons.

Geomorphological nature of the tsunami
When a wave hits shallow water, it slows down and its amplitude increases.
