Hello! My name is Egor Saitov. I’m 12.
I live in Kemerovo. It is my hometown.
I’d like to tell you about it.

The History of My City
Kemerovo is not old. It was founded in 1918. The first name of that town was Scheglovsk.

Now it is the capital of Kuzbass, its political, industrial and cultural centre. The population is about 520 thousand people

My city is situated on the banks of the river Tom. The embankment of the Tom is the best place for having a rest.

There are 5 districts in it: Centralny, Zavodsky, Leninsky, Kirovsky and Rudnichny. I live in Rudnichny

Kemerovo today
It’s a big industrial city. There are many chemical plants and mines. Coal is our gold

Kemerovo is a cultural capital of our region. We have a lot of modern cinemas, the Drama theatre, the Theatre for Young Spectators, the Circus, the Museum of Arts, the Museum of Regional History and many others. We enjoy to go there.
