Copenhagen is the capital and largest city of Denmark, built on the Islands of Zealand, Slotsholmen and Amager in the öresund Strait, which connects the North sea and the Baltic sea. In ancient Danish, the name of the city means "Harbor for traders". Copenhagen is home to 615 993 people, and together with the suburban areas with a population of about 1.5 million people (in 2018)
