The natural park Shcherbakovsky

Natural Park "Shcherbakovsky" was created in 2002 in order to preserve the unique natural and territorial complex "shcherbakovskaya bend of the Volga". It is located in Kamyshinsky district on the border of Volgograd and Saratov regions.

The total area of the Park is more than 34, 5 thousand hectares.
There are 47 species of plants, lichens, mosses, 29 species of animals which are listed in the Red Books of the International Natural Union, Russia and the Volgograd region.

Immediately behind The Shcherbakovsky dump there are "Columns" formed by a yellowish-gray stone. This stone was formed 60 million years ago at the bottom of the ancient Paleogene sea. Then the forces of the earth turned the former seabed into the Volga upland.
