Catherine bought the estate in 1775 and entrusted the greatest Russian architect Vasily Bazhenov (later Matvey Kazakov) with the task of building a country residence.
Unfortunately, after Catherine’s death the palace remained unfinished.
In the 1960s the park’s territory became a district of Moscow and gained the status of a protected historic zone.
