There are a lot of different countries in the world such as the UK, the USA, Russia and so on. They have got a lot of in common and at the same time they are different.

As for me, I like such country as the UK because it has a lot of common with my country, I mean the Russian Federation. I would like to share some facts about the UK with you.

I find interesting to invite you to find some interesting facts about the people and traditions of this mysterious country.

First of all I would like to tell some words about the people of this great country. The population of the UK is
63 182 178 people. It is mixed. It has got a very tough back grounds because the were a lot of wars. People had to move to other lands to live common lives. But in spite of this fact British people are very hospitable and intelligent. They like to be independent and punctual.

Due to these characteristics the British have a lot of traditions which spread all over the world.

For example, they have a very good tradition connected with St. Valentine's Day. On this day people in love send special cards or valentines to their sweethearts. They follow this tradition from the old times.

St.Valentine married people who were in love against the King’s will. The King ordered his soldiers to put him into the prison. The next day St.Valentine was executed. But all people in love remember this day as the 14 of February – the Day of St.Valentian.

I find this tradition very interesting. I think that love is united people all over the world. Due to it we don’t have wars and cruelty nowadays. It is the only thing which helps us to be kind to each other. Love and to be loved!
