it children learnt to keep house. Doll was not just a toy, it was a symbol of a procreation, a guarantee of family happiness. Dolls were a companions of a persons from birth to death and was a required attribute of every celebration.

• Ceremonial dolls and amulets were made without
using pricking and cutting things
• Dolls didn’t have faces
• Dolls didn’t have personal names, just denominations
• There were overwhelming majority of female image for dolls
Слайд 4A majority of Russian dolls since ancient paganism were used like amulets.
They were made by natural materials, which were found in forests: wood, herbs, straw and other. People chose these stuffs, because forests were natural habitat of Russian folk.
