November 22nd in 1943 came to be Independence and celebrated in the remembrance of the liberation from the French Mandate which was exercised over Lebanese soil for over 23 years.

History of independence
After national and international pressure, General Georges Catroux, a delegate general proclaimed in the name of his government the Lebanese independence on November 26,1941.
On November 8 1943 and after electing the president Bechara EL Khoury and appointing the prime minister the chamber of deputies amended the Lebanese constitutions, which abolished the articles referring to the mandate and achieving independence.

Hundreds of Lebanese citizens marched joyfully through Beirut ,to celebrate their country’s Independence Day and it is celebrated with a military parade attended by top officials on Beirut’s sea. And a lot of people that lives outside Lebanon they come to their country to celebrate this day with the Lebanese people.
