Admission to the Formal Gardens and the Maze is included
with your palace ticket. Admission to the Formal Gardens only (admission only charged during official summer time) and the Maze only can be purchased separately. A separate charge applies to the horse and tram ride.

Begun in 1690 as a form of country entertainment for William
///, today the Maze covers one third of an acre and consists of half a mile of winding paths surrounded by towering yew tree walls. On average it takes 20 minutes to reach the centre.

marvel at glistening fountain or take a stroll along the Broad Walk wall which, at 580 metres, is the longest herbaceous border in Britain.

Once the home of Queen Mary’s Exotick plant collection,
this garden has been restored to its former brilliance of 1702. Displays include colourful seasonal beds next to citrus trees and cacti in impressive replica ornamental vases. Nearby, you can discover the magic of the hidden Pond Gardens which were originally used for holding freshwater fish for the royal courts.
