It's especially scary given the fact that 1.5 million teens and adults were in
some kind of accident driving while "intexticated" -- texting that last precious "LOL" or "TTYL.“ It takes just five seconds for one's attention to be
diverted from the road. Five seconds!

Driving while texting, emailing, face booking and tweeting are twice as dangerous as previously thought according
to a new on-road study.

Following are 19 facts you might not know
about texting and driving.

Five seconds is the average time your eyes are off the road
while texting. When traveling at 55mph, that’s enough
time to cover the length of a football field.

Engaging in visual-manual subtasks (such as reaching for a phone, dialing and texting increases the risk of getting
into a crash by three times.
