Mechanism of action
Inhibition dihydrofolate reductase
Inhibition synthesis of DNA and RNA

Adverse effects :
Category C drugs : cause teratogenic effects in the first trimester .
- Bone marrow suppression
Folic acid antagonist .

Precautions
Not used in the first trimester
Regular CBC
Leucovorin Ca supplement .
